New Home Construction Incentives
The SEMCO New Home Construction program supports builders and HERS raters by providing incentives for going beyond the minimum required efficiency when designing and building new single-family homes. By working with SEMCO, we can offer expert guidance through the Home Energy Rating System (HERS) process.
HERS® Assessment
The HERS Index is the industry standard for measuring a home or building’s energy efficiency. SEMCO works with builders, HERS raters, and contractors to deliver high-performing new homes and multifamily buildings that qualify for energy efficiency rebates.
- HERS raters evaluate new construction to determine energy performance and verify rebate eligibility.
- Builders and contractors can use HERS results to identify cost-effective improvements and maximize incentives.
- A HERS assessment is required to qualify for SEMCO’s new construction rebates and incentives.
- By working with Project Coordinators and technical personnel, HERS raters are able to access guidance, documentation, support and additional resources to streamline the participation process.
